Bravo Group Goes Google with G Suite Chris Culos
Bravo Group Goes Google, Enables Collaboration Among Mobile Workforce
Bravo Group began in 1999 and specializes in a campaign-style approach to advocacy and public relations for leading companies and causes. Capabilities include: government relations; public relations, creative services and audience research.
Bravo Group understands the importance of each day and tight timelines in the toughest of public circumstances: High-stakes contract negotiations. A challenging crisis communications situation. An intractable public affairs issue. We’ve worked from the trenches to the spotlight, delivering sound advice, execution and success for clients.
Our difference lies in our integrated campaign-style approach, where our professionals on the ground have access to a full range of tactics to match smart strategies with the experience necessary to win.
Bravo Group currently has 45 employees across three office locations: Pittsburgh, PA; Harrisburg, PA; and Wayne, PA.
To move fast and collaboratively communicate among staff members across offices, traveling, at client sites and with clients, Bravo had previously cobbled together solutions provided by Microsoft and Citrix, hosted our our Exchange Server and redundant network with dedicated data circuits to its offices and select home offices.
Bravo Group wanted a solution where staff could access emails and documents from anywhere they were, on whatever mobile or computing device they had, whenever they wanted and collaborating when necessary without needing to navigate multiple applications. Senior leadership, primarily the CEO & COO determined that moving to G Suite would provide the solution Bravo had tried crafting multiple times since its inception.
Google Apps for Business provides Bravo Group employees easier access to their important emails, meetings and documents when they are on the go. Bravo Group also uses Google Apps Vault for preserving emails, and Backupify for G Suite as a backup and restore solution for Google Mail, Chat, Calendar, Drive, Contacts and Sites.
Bravo Group knew that a high-touch roll-out of G Suite was necessary to help employees transition, answer questions and quickly get up to speed so as not to lose productivity. We also knew that we needed a third-party to be on-site to handle transition and do as much one-to-one training as possible. We know our business and we wanted someone that was expert as this business.
Therefore, Bravo Group selected Dito, a Google Cloud Premier Enterprise Reseller to assist with technical deployment and change management services during the implementation of Google Apps in early 2014. The first phase included 8 early adopters, and was followed by the Global Go Live phase a few weeks later when all employees began using Google Apps. Dito trainers were on-site at each Bravo Group office to meet with employees one-on-one on their first day using G Suite. Dito trainers were welcomed back to Bravo’s offices five weeks later to provide Google Drive training and assist users with moving files to Drive. Additionally, Dito trainers also provided assistance setting up 2-step verification for G Suite, which Bravo enforced for the entire organization as an extra layer of security.
G Suite has improved communication, collaboration and accessibility for Bravo Group. Since server files were moved to Google Drive, employees can access their important files from anywhere and across all of their devices. Employees have been more productive by taking advantage of sharing Google Drive files with their clients and colleagues. Sharing and real-time collaboration in Google Drive has saved them the time and effort spent managing multiple versions of a spreadsheets that track important data, and documents that need edited by multiple people before being finalized. To reduce business disruption, Bravo didn’t force a move from MS Office Products such as Word and Excel; however, three months after implementation, over 50% of our new documents have been created in Google Docs or Sheets with the trend increasing to continued leveraging of collaboration.
